No matter how great a movie is in terms of Visual effects,locales,a movie is made worthy of rememberance majorly due dialogues,especially dialogues which are confrontational in terms of principles, motives.

The Scene in Aayutha Ezhuthu is one of my favorites , it has got the little 3 part acts in it.

1. Minister's jocular attitude towards Michael,

2. The shift towards seriousness

3. The rvalry begins

The setup

Michael has just beat up a goon of Minister,Watch out the subtle look Michael airs against the injured goon.
Minister [BharathiRaja] starts with a casual,condescending attitude towards Michael,
'Paiyan Per Enna sonnenga' - subterfuge the fact he knows and responsible for disrupting the election campaign.
The tone minister carries complete contempt and 'high above Michael' at the Start.By offering ticket expenses the Minister still displays complete ignorance of Michael's ambitions which to Michael, the Minister is clearly aware of.The more and more Minister adopts the casual tone,Michael is upset and displays it with even more subtlety with smirks and sarcasm [Anna!!!] which brings to the Act two courtesy of the light simmering drum beats and piano notes .

The middle part

This scene is about the introduction of the minister's serious tone , I love the way how the Minister casually drifts the two to a more secluded area so that his serious undertones are not heard by many.It is also crucial in making Michael to come top of from the dialogues indicating his seriousness in his objectives and also displaying his awareness of the level of wickedness the minister is capable of ["Neenga irukeengale enakku oru Annan"].

The End.

Battlelines and boundaries are drawn with Michael's vindictive condescending replies and the Minister realises he has a much more serious folly

Selvaraghavan defines Aayirathil Oruvan in this scene,Are u game for new emotions or long lost feelings emoted so well by Sivaj Ganeshan in Karnan.?

Aayirathil Oruvan is not only about exploring a uncharted genre but also exploring the thoughts which have never been splashed across the screen in Tamizh Cinema for a long time.

Yes there are quite a few logical loopholes , which are always present in any movie, but the movie takes full score in providing us a exhilarating journey,heard of only in our Childhood or Ambulimaama stories.

Selva scores the maximum brownie points available till the Interval, Post Interval it's upto the Public's interpretation that the film narrows on.

But Hey It follows the Typical Selva Stuff , Expect the unexpected .

Reema and Parthiban make u cringe for the fact that these actors have not been used well in the recent times.
Andrea is herself, and Karthi is proving time and again his screen presence is something his brother should be jealous of.

Watch out for the Scene of Karthi when he dodges the Gladiator Style Battle.

Music , Cinematagropghy , Art everyone seems to be in a battle of who is the best?.

Appreciate Aayirathil Oruvan of what it has been Attempted for?
To me it's a successful Dasavathaaram.

I was just browsing through interesting reads of Islam and Christianity regarding the religion of Jesus Christ.
In Both cases it is quoted in the bible as well as Koran That God will appear once more.

Namma Kalki avdhaaram came to my mind.

Even if god comes and says i am God , Imagine the chaos between Christians , Muslims, Hindus even politicians, because everyone will claim a piece of God.The clash between Atheists and Theists will reach immense proportions that any indignation on God would result in clashes.Countries would probably wage full scale wars, Imagine God says Israel not to attack Palestinians, some countries would align with God and some wont.

What will happen to the existing rituals and religious heads? Will they be able to accept one God? Will the Pope and Shankaracharya bow to the same person? Wouldn't the cynics in each religion protest it?

So for those of you who argue God should come down to earth? Think of the repurcussions.

and his wife is not alone,In minutes we digest the Classic of a movie we are witnessing.

"I did Kanchevvaram so that i could respect myself" - Prakashraj

In doing Kancheevaram,Prakashraj and Priyadarshan have made Thamizh Cinema also respectable.The movie,makes you feel for distress that workers have to endure when we buy a product.
Every scene was handled with perfection, Narration and the cuts between past and present has been the standout.The Last time in a movie where even an object was given importance was Kuruthipunal(Alarm Clock)
and
Kancheevaram makes Kuruthipunal look amateurish.
The Movie also brings out the purity of communism and how it's badly needed for workers to survive.

We also begin to wonder what Priydarshan is capable and how ignorant he is ,in doing masala movies of late.

A Must Watch for ardent Tamizh Cinema Movie Lovers.

Vaaranam Aayiram: Movie Review

Movies sometimes just shoot like a flowerpot ,bringing the hope that we are witnessing a classic , and just like how it rose , they fall too.
Vaaranam Aayiram is exactly like a Flower Pot Cracker.Post Interval You really feel Gautam has trouble in dictating the end of a movie.Vettaiyaadu Villaiyaadu,Pachakili Muthucharam and now Vaaranam Aayiram.

The movie can be pardoned for the slow and confusing narration in the second half cause such is the impact of the first half ,that when u step out of the theater you'll have fond memories of it.
It's Surya who rides the movie but all the three female leads have got plum roles and a hats off for Gautam for that.The Chemistry between Surya and Sameera is creative and bubbly youth at it's best , a fact when suspension of disbelief takes over.
If there is any doubt about Surya's credibility as an actor banking on good directors,This film is an ode,Such a splendid performance cannot be replicated only with the presence of good director ,but only by good acting.Splendid job by Surya.
Sameera is a revelation , dubbing given by Chinmayee just fits to a T.
Simran and Ramya bat out the rest of the innings.
The movie's entry into a modern classic is restricted by faults in the movie spread across entire portion of the movie.
If only Gautam had taken care of more scenes towards the affection between father and son,constant English usage ,clear narration in second half,Unwanted songs (Annul Melae...) and the climax fight...(jeez....Gautam!!!!!)...it would have been a classic by now.

Help at Midnight

I could feel myself going to sleep with the system On,Radio playing music,Bedroom lights still on.Then next thing i remember was suddenly waking up and finding lights on and radio still playing out music.I checked the time 1.00 A.M.
I was preparing to get back to sleep when i could hear a dog yelp,it sounded as if the dog was in pain.I thought to myself well few seconds it would go away, The yelping just got stronger and stronger.

I dont like animals treated in an unfairly manner and i certainly dont like myself if i turn deaf to a yelping.
I picked up a stick (just in case u know !!) , then ventured into the street,I could hear the sound but couldnt find the dog.
I just followed the sound , then stopped and looked around.There it was.In an apartment gate,between the rods that make up a gate,In the space where even a cat couldnt go was a dog stuck between the rods.
Slowly as i moved closely towards the dog,it started to wag its tail ferociously and stopped yelping as if to say Thank goodness you came.
I dropped the stick and went near the poor thing and i tapped on its forehead just as to ensure to make it feel safe.

With two legs in front of the gate , two legs in air behind the gate,the dog got stuck in the rods that make up a gate.The poor thing was trying on its own to squeeze out but it's tummy got stuck and it was dangling in air.
I saw the situation ,thought to myself well i need help cause i need to push legs from behind the gate,which means jumping over the gate,inside the apartment and someone else has to pull it from the front side.I looked around for help,An autorickshaw came,went and stopped it.

"Oru nai mattirkkkunga ,konjam vareengala,kathekitter irukku"
"sir kadichida pogudhu"
"Enna kadekleenga"!!!

The autrickshaw driver came . he held the front legs and started to pull,I tried to push from behind,somewhere the tummy got stuck and pain made the dog to yelp more and try to bite.The autorickshaw predicatably
"sir kadeekka paakudhu sir , savari vera irukku naan kelamberen"

Then i was all alone back to square one,the poor thing never yelped instead was wagging its tail.Suddenly i could see a motorcycle lights , I stopped the motorcycle.It was a Yamaha,RX135, I felt happy i drive the same and it's been my ideology that people who drive RX 135 or Yamaha are courageous than others :)
Two youths around 20-25 were driving it,Explained the problem,They came down after parking the bike.

One( with specks) saw the dog and started to pet him.I think he should have a dog cause his ways with the dog showed familiarity with pets.
The other was quite fearful of the dog and hesitant.
I talked to them and said one should jump up the gate and try to lift the back two legs.The other two can stay in front and try to pull.

The specks guy climbed up the gate , while me and his friend stayed in front.He carefully lifted the hind legs ,and at the same time i caught the dog's forelegs and started to pull, while his friend was given the resposibility of holding the dog's face :) .

Five minutes of struggle and voila , the dog found itself released from that tummy stuck, it just improvised and ran before we could even realise.

I thanked them, and specks guy laughed it off,His friens however said
"oru thanks kooda sollala sir ,nai paatla odichu"

I came back and slept heavily,Morning came i couldnt remember one thing,I just kept telling myself it was a dream.
My mother came and while serving coffee asked me why i had gone down with a stick.

"Oh i forgot that stick"- I told to myself and felt happy about what i have done to help a little poor thing.

Losing a Friend or How Time does it....

This week was quite a mixed one a)Meeting up a long time old Friend and b)Meeting A set of new friends thanks to social networking.
The First Case was very warm and amidst the conversations that salty feeling of 'oh wait'..This isnt how we used to talk,This isnt how we respond to questions and worse we are totally different to them.My Mind was vigorous with questions and as i searched for answers,i concluded the blame lies on me.Somehow or other Maintaining Contacts is an art or better to put It largely arises out of ignorance.Sometimes distance makes us to be ignorant,Busy schedules makes us to be forgetful,Personal commitments makes us to drift away slowly from them.Nothing is worse when u get the salty feeling of "How close were we back then or How Freely were we with them".
Few Minutes of our time to maintain our contacts plays a lot in our happiness and last week I was a crime doer and i myself was a victim.

The second Case is more of an adventure,Like minded minds getting together for a cause and preparing a plan for an assault on adventure.Time only will tell if it succeeds or not.

The Art of Saying NO !!

"Yeah Sure" , "Yes da" ,"Yes Sure" , "No Probs" ,are words uttered by me in just different situations to various people in recent times .The only common thing is I should have said NO in all the occasions.
I have this obsessive compulsive disorder !? of saying Yes.I don't know how common i am or how rare i am with this behavior.What it does is I land up in sudden calls of reminders , apologies to many for not keeping commitments.
Do you have a pen ? NO my instinct says , Yeah is what my mouth says and I whisper to my next seated colleague "You have a pen?".

It's an art , because saying Yes or no should not affect the relationship you have with the second person and getting the combination right is the big task.
And today I just sat thinking "Ok Enough is enough , let me put effort in this".

I am following the U.S Elections closely and I would like Obama to win.It's not the Change card that he's playing but also he seems the only candidate who will earn the long lost respect America had amidst other countries.
If he's as good as 10 % of his speeches are , World will have a sensible and charismatic leader.
Some of his words from acceptance speech sent shivers for the Outsourcing setup , but hey what's wrong in keeping jobs for his people?.
This is also a test for how modern the American setup is because they still dont have a African-American as President.It will dig out the dirt inside the closet and we can count the skeletons ,so anytime someone says America is the epitome of Modern civilization we would have a definite answer.It can be negative or positive , what it is we will have to wait for November.

Every time now Microsoft now release a gadget or SW , we just have to throw our existing ones ,there's no option of easier transition.Upgrade is a concept Microsoft is turning into it's own terms.Google hasn't changed a bit their search page.

It's one thing to keep the users happy and another thing to educate users of new areas.Google keeps this distinction clear, that's why their search Page hasn't changed.

Agreed the sub plot was different , but his movies have that same romance reintroduced with crisp dialogues and excellent BGM , yet the scene remains the same .Hero proposes the Girl.

We can argue that Tamil Cinema is built on Love ,yet for an established director like Mani , not yet another Love Movie.High time he deviates from the pattern and explores into other genre (Crime fiction,Horror,Sci-Fi,Comedies,you can go on)

Tamil Cinema is more open to bold movies nowadays that Mani need not be afraid of how it would be received.

As news of his next movie tend to ripple in ,I hope Vikram doesn't propose to Aishwarya Rai , then an excellent BGM comes ,which is not in the CD and we scramble to buy that CD "With new songs".

It's crisp narration,and the Movie grabs your attention from the title card.It was good sense for the director to capture the night life of madurai which is very famous.
Sasi had to be applauded for the minute details , and attention to charecterisation for the supporting characters.

Midway in the film u also realise james vasanthan is a debutant , Re-recording was simply spellbinding.use of some old classics of Ilayaraja's adds spice to the cream.
Ganja karuppu is a revelation.Everybody might get annoyed with the long walk.But it's a single shot and the way he rests on the stone ,No Dialogues and you could understand what's going in his mind.Great work ganja karuppu.
The film has to be seen twice and owned in DVD to learn more nuances.Dialogues werent out of this world ,but simple and realisitic.
However the movie's pitfall is the recent trend of tragic climaxes in recent years(Pattiyal,Pudhupettai,Anjathey,Paruthiveeran,Nepali).and the cliche dialogues generalising women.

For Weeks and Days Many of my colleagues in my Office were speaking very highly of the Sangeetha Hotel in Nungambakkam ,So when the time came for me and colleagues to have lunch there,I was so pumped and excited.One of colleagues took care of ordering and I had mentioned a Tandoori Lunch (which is the famous specialty dish)and i was waiting with so much eagerness and Hungrier as time went by.

I was just looking at other table's dishes and got to imagine the items that would come to me as well.Then just like the Curtains that rise in a Cinema at the start of the movie ,The waiter appeared with the food ,I couldnt resist the temptation with all hype.And when he placed the food ,alas there was no Tandoori Quick Lunch,My eyes were angry and hunger led to me impatient,And when my colleague ordered, he had missed out Tandoori Quick Lunch and ordered one meals.As i sat with the meals, I had this rock solid feeling which i had to swallow and enjoy the reality of what is present right now.It was Deja Vu ,I had this same feeling and it wasnt hard to remember the instance ,it was...

Bangalore : A very short trip

Just came back form a short trip to Bangalore , and three reasons why it's better than Chennai.
Climate is terrific , that chill breeze which pushes against the skin.
Roads leave out the traffic , they are really wide and neat
Multilingual , everybody speaks minimum 4 languages Kannada,Telugu ,Malayalam ,Hindi and Tamil.Wow.

The new international airport is absolute delight in visuals, although it's located 100 k.m from the city ,truly international.

Also for a domestic carrier go by Kingfisher airlines worth every penny.

This has been a long pending to-be-watched movie and it's been worth the delay.
It enables you to swim inside the mind of three characters of which you should be able identify with any of the one

Protagonist A : The moderate who believes in women's liberation but dislikes women's fickleness , yet he empathizes with women and at the same time holds no punches when it comes to hypocrisy .

Protagonist B : The left winger who believes in female independence , shudders the very thought of trusting a man , is confused to follow the biological and social need for a man in her life .

Protagonist C : The male chauvinist who staunchly believes in female - dependence is ever lasting . They are objects of desires and nothing more .

It's a must watch for classic cinema fans .

A played by KamalHassan , the subtle voice dubbing is the highlight which adds details to the soft spoken but clear-minded character .
B played by SriPriya is a revelation and watch out for the scene where she's caught by Kamal for her hypocrisy in her that she hates in others.
C played by Rajini is the character i believe he lived and breathed , his casual flirting and affectionate 'machaan' , 'maapillai' are salutable .

Watch out for the scenes between Rajini and Kamal where they debate about Women .

I happened to catch a glimpse of NDTV's We the People , Ramadoss was getting interviewed and when he gave his reply to one question about Smoking everybody laughed .That was weird for me ,How ? Here was a man who was giving statistics like a flip of a coin but nobody took him seriously.

I googled and visited the Health ministry's website and read the report.

Tamil cinema is at an interesting stage ,but for prominent reasons one issue seems to stand out , The Rajinikanth successor competition .
Unabashedly we can now find actors following/copying the style man's methods.For whatever reasons one has to remember that originality wins.M.G.R had his own method of winning the audience,It's not how the actor manipulates the audience rather the audience who chooses their good man vs evil hero.It's only after that the actor placed with a dilemma of populist movies falls into the image trap.
And the viral fever in cinema right now is the actors rush to inject the contention of successor to Rajini into audience's mind . I'll list some observations
** Vijay does the same thing Rajini does,steals the heroines of Rajini movies,One self glorifying song ( kadavule ...yaarvdhu sollunga pa)
** Ajith does not know how to follow Rajini , so a convenient way is to rip off Rajini movies.Last heard aaegan is a rip-off Main Hoon naa

Have some ego guys , you are doing somebody's work

** Dhanush , Yaaradi Nee Mohini was fun to watch but there right there the snake scene was enough for me to get Dhanush in my bad books
** Simbhu, heights of self pride and audience's tolerance

The only actors who smartly know that Rajini successor comes upon you and not by chasing towards it are Vikram , Surya .
But they are not a hit with youth.

However there a couple of stars who quietly know the job and do the job Prasanna ,Prithviraj ,Narain ,Jeeva surely are paisa vasool than the above mentioned four crap actors .

P.S Thanks to Venkat , if the post sounds unclear , the Rajini-successor is one who has total audience adulation and not one who successfully follows his commercial style .

Years ago,Sathyam Cinemas was one among the many good theatres in Chennai , right now it has transformed itself into the theatre in Chennai.
The Transformation of Sathyam into a upper class theater well above the rest lies in it's planning.Even the most minute of details is kept with the public in mind.It has made movie viewing not worthy at all if it's now viewed in Sathyam except for local theaters which has its own flavor,I mean I love those 'comments by ordinary guy in drunken state' at Udhayam,Kaasi theater.If I have to watch a Tamil movie it would surely be for a Kaasi or Udhayam ,but the Sathyam cinema experience is altogether a enticing one and too good to resist.

I love the Sathyam cinemas toilets , seriously .

P.S Devi is one good theater running in worse conditions.

Another election , another farce on Cauvery river. Even the Nattaamais would have solved the problem but thanks for our judiciary and Tamil nationalists , the problem seems to be reduced to an annual news .Oh wait i can hear Film Industry holding a fast , but what have they got to do with it ? . How is this fast going to lead to a solution ?. I am damn sure that this fast would be used to raise more questions on rajni and others who are divided in heart and soul.
After nearly a decade in the courts , the decision as usual was not agreed by the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh while hapless Tamil Nadu had to just resort to statements expressing anguish.
I dont know the solution but it seriously pisses me off when there are people who wouldnt part with water for human welfare and it's even more distressing when states use their people for vote banks instead of constructive politics.

"tickets close come afterward (Afterwards there will be tickets ??!!!!)."

"This is VIP gate , are u all VIP's ? MOVE !"

We were slowly losing our hopes of getting into the match , then we remembered our colleague and asked him . 5 mins tickets were in our hands . U can finish things easily if u know the right people at the right places .

Political novels are not that common nowadays and there aren't many people who write it well .Irving Wallace comes to mind as i write this blog . Sujatha's Padhavikaaga is an interesting read and insight into the minds of politicians . Is it due to the more advertisement of Politicians nowadays , the characters in the novel did not surprise me . The Lead was certainly a different one and i had issues in the ending of novel ,It sort of was a big letdown after a build-up .

One thing is characters in the novels find many interesting and easy ways for their sexual appetite and there are far too many in this novel.Considering the birth of this novel could've been excess.Another thing is if the movie is made out of the novel who would the characters be ?

The Name is Rajnikanth : Book Review

Purchased a copy this week and finished it in two days . The book goes about in flash back style with all news that we have heard about Rajinikanth now officially confirmed .
It's not more of a biography , rather a fan's admiration of Rajinikanth that has been well mixed with glowing tributes from his friends and well wishers .

One thing that irked me was the cover of the book , I mean there are numerous pictures of this man ,The rebellious one , the romantic one , The villainousness one , yet the author chose to put up a masala picture as the cover design . Rather does she implictly say that's what been Rajinikanth has been forced and turned into ?

The one striking aspect is she also brings about the negative side of Rajinikanth , be it is his arrogance with stardom , or his helplessness with spirituality , his lovetorn youth .

Worth a read for Ardent Rajinikanth fans .

Here it is ,one of my colleagues and friend had suggested a movie to go .We then rounded on Thoondil a Tamil movie.Little did we realize that this is going to be the fun filled crappiest movie we shall see.

The Theater was filled with 50 odd or so and the moment the picture rolled on i was in splits .The plot points goes like this ,Boy meets girl,Boy ditches girl,Boy marries another girl,First girl gives her egg to second girl,Second girl delivers the baby,First girl comes and takes the baby ,Boy and second girl fight for the baby .
This movie is a must watch for all those who have not laughed aloud for a while .
It now ranks as my favorite tamil crap movie after Ice .

As you finish the book one question arises as to whether ,Is the stories really true ? The stories are intricately woven and characters distinctly different, that one wonders it's really fiction .My view is that the stories might be slightly altered and the characters ,Sujatha would've picked from real life .My fondness for Tamil Novels has increased and I plan to plunge into Balakumaran's . I have been a unabashed fan of Edward Norton and was eagerly expecting the release of Pride and Glory .The movie was completed in 2006 and has been delayed due to reasons known by New Line Guys . Well the bombshell is the movie has been postponed to 2009 .

The Oscar Nominees have been announced for 2007. The Best Picture Nominees are

Atonement
Juno
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood .

Of these i haven't watched Juno and TWBB .The Net and media are ablaze with articles suggesting NCFOM as the front runner .It is a good movie , no doubt about that but a movie's full impact should be felt less than 5 minutes after the movie's last scene is viewed.

1) There are movie which at first viewing doesn't offer you a clue and makes it hard for us to understand .They are just too intelligent on first viewing . Matrix ,Memento ,NCFOM belongs to these , U have to tune into the net and understand the plot points u missed
2) There is another set of movies which is not hard to understand and full blow of the movie is not received due to our ignorance and underestimation by us .These are movies which we fail to respect it's intelligence from the start .Fight Club immediately comes into mind .Pulp Fiction .
3) There is the last set which leaves you overwhelmed and they achieve success on the both above points , Understandable , U respect it from the start .
Godfather , Shahshawnk Redemption , American Beauty .

To me Movies that win Best Picture should come in the third category , not everybody have the net to understand the story line nor time .

Just when u sit back and think India is growing out be a sensible and peaceful country ,a stone is pelted for the most stupid reason .The only thing that varies is the object at which the stone is thrown . Sometimes it's Sania Mirza , Most commonly Indian Cricket team ,most damagingly Buses ,most rarely Politicians ,most latest Non-Mumbaikars or Non-Mahararashtrians . Just how do they come up with the reasons to pelt stones is seriously amazing .Do they sit and think ? or Do they Shit and think ??.

If Mr.Raj Thackeray could just realise if each and every state would send back the mumbaikars to Mumbai , there will be no air to breathe for the people in Mumbai.
Any culture ,religion ,country ,civilisation which refuses to tolerate newer things ,and refuse to grow amidst the newer things , and refuse to provide a passionate hand for the newer things is bound to get destroyed .

There are men in this world who go about demanding to be killed .They quarrel in Gambling games , they jump out of their automobiles in rage , they humiliate people ,they bully people .These are people who wander saying 'Kill Me , Kill Me' . - Godfather , Mario Puzo .

So a fifty year old novel still gives us the cause for the pelting stones problem .
It also states an answer .

I had this tool that i am working on in Office which is supposed to be complicated , but i found it easy to develop . As usual a simplest problem made my week worse .
In Computer jargon terms an "Object" is the base class .
The problem was when i try to typecast an object of type A to A again it didnt work .
It's like a wrapping a book in brown cover and unwrapping it , but here it says u cant unwrap .
Last Update : Google posted links there's a possibility in VS 2005 as a bug .

It's been a long time i have been to a movie First Day , so i decided to go for Bheema First Day through Black Ticket .In Udhayam and Devi there's no Counter tickets ,Devi black marketeers will come to you ,Udhayam u have to search for them .You can always judge whether a move is a hit by the rate of Black Tickets .Azhagiya thamizh magan costs 150, Billa 200 ,Sivaji 1500.

i went to Devi , huge crowd mainly due to Vikram and things never changed the last time i went for First Day.
1) Huge crowd in vehicles all honking at random
2) A Fan was asking nearly everyone of the previous show "eppadi irukku" ??
3) A Fight broke out between two people allegdly over some comments on the star .
4) The Seats were so nastied from the previous show , My friend and i were immediately greeted by bugs .
5) Songs break in and u can see people moving towards two direction one towards exit and other towards stage
6) Claps for all dialogues by Vikram ,Prakshraj and lewd gestures from Trisha

P.S Bheema costed 200 .

Anybody who watched The Second Test between India and Australia would be disappointed with the Umpiring and the things that are going on .

Let's look at objectively the infections the game is suffering from .

Umpiring :
It's my belief that Power of control should be with the umpires but aided by sensible use of technology .
LBW :
Although the technology Hawkeye is not absolutely correct LBW decisions can be referred to umpire for any Bat-Pad . The Umpire can refer to third umpire only if he has any doubt for bat-Pad,The Umpires shall retain the powers of LBW at all other cases .
Nicks and Edges :
Snickometer is fair enough in judging the Catches .Contentious Edges which is still not captured by snickometer should be ruled in favour of Batsman .
Referrals :
The system followed in England's domestic should be put to trial and observe the outcome of it .

Players :
You can find players appealing , over appealing for the most stupid situations that even a baseball fan would know it's not worth appealing .Match referees should be empowered to punish players for appealing in an unsportsmanlike manner .

Catches :
The Law states that catches should be in complete control and in no point should it touch the ground .However You can find fielders touching the ground in the completion of catch and say they were in complete control .This law needs a look and precedent should be set .

Been a long time u watched a murder mystery ,Pick this one on a Sunday afternoon and u'll be grateful to me ever .

2.King of California
Michael Douglas does only controversial films , when he does a comedy it does surprise you ,surprises you more when he pulls it off .

3.Gone baby Gone
U remember the Good will Hunting guys , well Damon went on to become a star the other one did'nt .My Guess was Damon should have been the one behind Hunting for a major part.Wrong .It should've been Affleck all the way .

4.Charlie Wilson's War
Tom Hanks has this uncanny ability of making a dull story interesting to watch .

5.Rescue Dawn
Bale is fast becoming the underdog superstar of Hollywood .

Who laid the Trap ??

For those of you who haven't watched I am Legend , please skip this post , I am going to discuss some spoilers .

There has been a serious debate about a scene which takes place in the movie .Neville played by Will Smith is caught in a trap which leads to disastrous consequences . The argument is who kept the trap ?? . On one side we have the Neville Group who say he himself kept the trap and absent minded gets caught.On the other hand we have The Dark Seeker Group who argue that the Alpha Male keeps the trap .

The Neville Group :

What they say :
Neville is depicted as a deteriorating individual , He talks to Mannequins , speaks to dog about taking vegetables for diet . He is shown keeping traps . He is then caught in a trap (one of many) set by him around the city to get the dark seeker to try out his vaccines .The blood that drops off his head and the dog barking raises enough noise and scent to get tracked .

What's wrong with their say :
The Mannequin (Fred) if it's placed by him , is in fact facing him or the road traffic and if he has indeed kept the trap for Dark seekers the Trap should have been positioned between the Mannequin and the hole in the building .
Neville is yes indeed shown as a deteriorating but he is not that crazy to forget his own trap and how could he place that mannequin there ? , when the previous scene was him conversing to the mannequin in the shop .

The Dark Seeker Group :

What they say :
The Alpha Male sees its girl get trapped that it doesn't mind getting exposed to the sunlight .It is shown seeing the trap in display and in action when Neville traps the female .To get back at Neville it sets the trap and waits for the dusk to unleash the Dogs .There is a poster on the fridge saying that dogs can come from dusk .

What's wrong with their say :
The Dark Seeker is never that intelligent to set the trap and at the last scene it is shown banging the glass door even though it gets hurt . That's something which is unintelligent and then to come up so intelligently to set the trap is quite unbelievable and ridiculous . Also how does it know to move the mannequin ? Does it follow Neville at Day Time ?

My Say :

It's my belief that when a film triggers a debate it's quite healthy ,but if it triggers a debate about it's storyline then it's not properly written or depicted .
The Dark Seekers are shown as dumb creatures at the start of the film (It just follows blood ,One gets exposed to sunlight).Neville on the other hand is also shown deteriorating mentally .
If we could arrive at the conclusion as to who's most likely to move the mannequin out of it's place we are close to finding out the answer .
Neville at daytime speaks to the Mannequin , He places Mannequins at random spots inside shops as if they are persons . That is not deteriorating i.e brilliant survival tactic to engage oneself . he's been without human company for along time , anybody would've thought of something like that .The Dark Seeker's motive of moving the mannequin holds good unless it knows about the relationship between Neville and the Mannequin i.e it could've followed Neville in daytime .who's done or at least shown risking of exposing to sunlight? There's a scene very well placed before it just depicting that .Neville is not that crazy to move the Mannequin and the position of the trap would add more strength to this point .Neville's clarity of thinking alone is deteriorating .He says The Dark Seekers are losing out the human behavior when he sees one exposing to sunlight .He made a mistake .They are evolving .The Hero need not be right always .He under-estimated the Dark Seeker . And he paid the price with interest for that .

Verdict : The Dark Seekers placed that trap .

India-Pakistan Tests 2007

Test cricket is on the low , thanks to the series now it will be on a fast roll in losing the viewers.The series was the most boring series of cricket in recent times .
Having said that (sounds like Ravi Shastri) Pakistan can go back home with quite a few silver linings in spite of the loss

Misbah, The find of the year.No batsman in recent memory has played the middle order batsman's role as perfect as Misbah. You could see him grinding the opposition with his defence then couple it with successive attacking strokes.There's a great batsman in the making.

Younis and Yousuf : Bowlers hunt in pairs ,goes the adage .With these guys the adage can go for a noun change at the first.These guys in calm ,assured and confident manner put the opposition in a spot of bother before the knock out punch unknowingly is being delivered.Aravinda and Ranatunga ,Steven Waugh and Ian Healy are batsmen who batted with confidence in the each other than theirs.The two Y's can claim to be most prolific duo of the decade.

Danish and Harbhajan : The two bowlers who look way out of their normal form , they were struggling to put up a decent line and with players knocking ,their days are counted unless they improve upon .

Sourav Ganguly : The Phoenix of Indian Cricket , He is at the peak and no consolation will suffice if he does not translate it into runs in Australia .

India-Pakistan series is fast losing its status as the fiercest to Border-Gavaskar , Ashes unless the administrators take stock and plan it properly we might have one series to be a normal routine and dead series.

A Nap at Office

Today afternoon i had my stomach full and then sat at my seat ....Gr....Everything was blurred ...I just heard some weird low voices ..Then all i remember was suddenly getting my eyes open ...Turned around and everybody was doing the routine work ..I turned left and addressed my colleague "Was i asleep?" .She was in splits and said "Yes" . Never had a nap at office and today was a great day after the nap .:)

Is America Really Democratic ??

This post is not to degrade America .America is the country that leads the rest of the world in a variety of areas .
However as things roll by in the political field , anybody can have the doubt about the merits of the Democracy system in U.S

1) The President of the U.S George Bush is not the popular choice for President , thanks to the Election system he is now President.

2) We have him making claims of Evil countries just like how we do in the movies and comics , He threatens and successfully topples IRAQ although he claimed there are WMD's.
Time has passed by still no WMD's .There's Lie No 1 . So what do the public do ?? The Media seems so oblivious and the public start to hate him .In a democratic system once u lose the trust of the popular mandate NOBODY can be the Leader .The Geeks launch their online attacks but that's about they can do .He still has some period to pass for Elections .However the question of America's decisions seems largely inspired by a few people rather than the whole .The world however start to hate or loose respect of this great nation because of a few people .Now Is the country democratic and is it achieving the foundations for which democracy is known for ??

3) The IRAN NEI report states that the country disbanded it's plans .Mr.Bush claims he knew about it only few weeks back .Are you kidding me ?? I think he should be the most powerful uninformed man .There's Lie No 2. So what do the public do?? Again raise a hue and cry about him till the next lie comes along . The consequence of losing the trust and respect of the public is certainly nil in America .And as it stands America is democratic ONLY in it's VOTING system

a)His declaration of 345 with 83 overs to go was a statement of intent .Had this been Dravid or Tendulkar the target would've been 380-400 .
b) His changing of batting order and making Sachin come lower shows his authoritativeness and no-nonsense approach
c)Ganguly bowled , Tendulkar bowled Wait.... Laxman bowled too , that shows some willingness to experiment .

Chennai is getting smaller , cramped up with honking cars .There are just virtually no good places to hang out , Thank God he had the vision to create a beach and divide into three ,Marina , Besant and Thiruvanmiyur .Apart from these U just dont have any free places to sit and talk with ur buddies . The new Coffee shops looks more like a New shirt , New attitude display of guys and girls .Satyam is extending a class of his own ,It's no longer a commonplace it's Upmarket guys place .What else do we have urgh.. Citi Center ..INOX again upmarket . shops more upmarket .Spencers . Free of cost but then we have to walk walk and walk around it . Resturants .huh need i mention .
Pubs ..bars they have a rule to pair up ...Dude so single guys cant enter in most Discos...what has now become is that Bachelors are outcast ..?? :) lol .what else do we have ..temples ?? sit at home ...There will be soon a time when Girls pass comments on a boy passing "He is looking homely" . :) God save chennai and Guys . :)

LandMark Nungambakkam , Tamil Stories Section , Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal (SNSM) , IF one should define Human Behaviour in 4 words this be it.
And so started my journey into Tamil Novels .Jayakanthan brings characters to the fore and then overwhelms you with their outright uniqueness and lateral thinking .SNSM was a very journey to the absolute feminist woman psyche . It's like a K.Balachander movie theme handled with characters created by Selvaraghavan. The Line especially "Sex is just a Man's way of dominance in Woman" threw me off and had to swallow my pride in reading further .I find his writings more crude and more incisive .

Sujatha on the other hand is like Mani ratnam , His meticulous writing in the language (too Brahminical sometimes )is just a treat.Pirivom Sandhippom was a delight to read .U could find yourself immersed in the characters and more importantly u could relate yourself in any of the leading characters ,the same can never be said of SNSM.

The lines will be more understood by Gamers .Today i managed to get hold of Medal of Honor Some version Airborne i think ..Wow it was simply amazing.It's been a long time since time went in seconds and then hours .It was simply a return to childhood and adoloscence.I finished quite a bit although my sniper skills is just intact , my reflexes were way slow .My friend was wondering WTF he uses sniper all the time .:)I lover sniper shoots in games .It basically avoids deadly confrontation and the winner is always the quickest and sharpest . My return trip home was embedded with thoughts of all the games i played and how i wish i could play at home .My comp doesnt support heavy graphics games which makes nearly 99% Games unplayable .

Half Life :
My first tryst with games .The CD was given by Venki saying he got it as a compliment .I got hooked on forever .

Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Ritchie Street .Games World .150 Rs .Amazing experience .Although I never finished the Game.The climax I vaguely remember is like u have to shoot the zombie in circular motion .I couldnt finish it but still one of my favs .

Medal of Honor : Allied Assault
The Omaha beach landings were totally out of the world .My love experience with Snipers began here . I simply used Snipers for Point Blank range . :)

Ilayaraja rings the best tunes when given a violin and a flute .This song shows his mastery in Flute and little drum beats that surrounds the flute , the entire percussion is simply great .Added to that Powerful Lyrics and voice of S.P.B , this time he doesnt sing in a loud voice instead he settles for a mid-level subtle singing and how wonderful it turns out to be

This low melody is a great song to hear for me esp during nights .The lyrics is just amazing .Two broken hearts enquire abt each other , pay attention to each and every lyric .The slow drum beats and clarity in singing by both singers (Srinivas and Sadhan sargam) makes it a truly a classic

a) There's always a person late for a get-together .

b) If u are the person who criticise for being late , U are Most likely to be late in the next get-together

c)A meeting scheduled at 10 A.M will always result in nobody turning up

d) Your cellphone rings non-stop just when u are at the busiest .

e) When u are idle at office Ur emails not even forward comes to your mailbox

f) When u seriously want to call people to pass idle time , Zero is the number of persons who would pick the phone

g)There's always a jerk who speaks loudly on the phone next to your cabin.

h)You are most likely to forget a task which ur boss said when u are about to leave for home early.

i)There's always a person who speaks on the mobile in the Cinema while watching .

In retrospective , The Big three have not been much a part of winning team as they should be .The Tour to Australia shall be a chance for redemption . On failing Indian Cricket shall have to regard as the Greatest batting trio similar to the First Love that never happened.
